It needs serious effort from government to overcome it. Central Java Province is chosen as research object because has unique characteristic, this province has high level of GRDP, high population, low percapita income and high level of poverty. Those indicators cannot produce a conclusion about economic well being in a province because there are missing indicator namely income distribution. To measure income distribution in Central Java Province in 2001,2002 and 2003, this thesis used analytical tools by Calculation method of Relative Income Distribution among group with Gini Coefficient, Kuznets Index, Oshima Index and Relative Inequality and also used Statistical method approach with Coefficient Variation of Income Distribution. The result of the calculation in this thesis shows that the calculation of Gini Coefficient, Kuznets Index, Oshima Index, Relative Inequality and Coefficient Variation of Income Distribution indicate low level of income distribution inequality in Central Java Province which mean that income distribution in Central Java Province is relatively fair. Based on the result and the fact that GRDP of Central Java is high, low income percapita, high population and huge number of population live in poverty, the writer conclude that people in Central Java Province are generally live in poverty.en_US
