Teaching Experience In Using Multimedia In A Vocational High School
Abstract
In recent years, the implementation of using multimedia in English language learning in vocational high school is consistently limited. Therefore, in Indonesia vocational high school the English teachers still use traditional media such as chalk, blackboard, and printed media as the main sources of learning. Meanwhile, in the 21th-century challenges and demands in education are increasingly higher, so teachers are required to be more up to date. Multimedia has many advantages in English language learning such as giving more information, encouraging students’ imagination and creativity, and so on, thus multimedia needs to be utilized with particular mechanisms. The purpose of this research is to describe the implementation of using multimedia in English language learning, in accordance with giving and asking opinion expression material at Vocational High School. The class studied is a class that has diverse student characters ranging from active, crowded but lacking motivation in learning English, and difficult to manage. In a period of 1 month, researchers conducted 4 times teaching in two different classes. The results of the use of multimedia in schools in the learning process show that students are more active and enthusiastic in learning English.
