Kedutaan Besar Inggris dan Wahana Pertukaran Kebudayaan Inggris-Eropa Interpretasi Naskah Drama Hamlet
Abstract
The most apt question ofour time is how can we think, plan and build in a
world that becomes more chaos everyday. Should we be afraid of these
problems and suppress them? The safe and sound world of architecture is
no longer exist, or even never exist again, and the 'open architecture'
means consciousness and open mind.
Like open-minded for receiving and analyzing many different possibility,
'open architecture’ opens the closed gate between architecture and other
science. Present architecture is now allowed to speak of its own, to receive
as many as possible good affection from other discipline; literary,
histoncism, humanism, pleasure, and science are only a small number of
affection. And like other discipline also, literary, as a product of human
civilization can inspire architects in many ways.
As we all know, at the present, many people from different cultural
background are interacting everyday. They assimilate through different
ways and places, spreading out their own culture and receiving many
different new ones. And sometimes they build their sigmfier to signify
their presence and existence in some other place far away from their
boundaries.
In this final project, The British Embassy and Intercultural Exchange, the
author tries to perform some issues in architecture such as how to
transform a literary concepts into architectural forms, and to combine a
public-private combination without interfering each other.
These concepts would then transformed into architectural forms through
the analyzing of theories, similar projects, direct literal interpretation,
programmatic function and technical requirements.
