GAMBARAN PENGGUNAAN MEDIA SOSIAL UNTUK PENELUSURAN INFORMASI TENTANG OBAT DI KALANGAN MAHASISWA S1 FARMASI UNIVERSITAS ISLAM INDONESIA
Abstract
Social media users has increased as the internet grows, social media can be used to search
for drugs information. S1 and Diploma students are ranked two in internet users (79.23%).
The research aims to know the general description of the intensity, purpose then main social
media used and to know the overview of the use of social media in search of information
related to description, pharmacology, toxicology and The use of drug therapy among
students S1 pharmacy. The type of research is survey research using S1 Pharmacy students
of Islamic University of Indonesia as respondents. Data collection using a questionnaire
containing 12 questions about the general overview of social media use and the description
of drug information search on social media. Data analysis is done in a descriptive. Target
respondents were 492 students (86,78%), with response rate 427 responden. From 427
respondents, 214 respondents (50.1%) were Age ≤ 20 years and as many as 357 respondents
(83.6%) were Female. Nearly half of the respondents used social media more than ten hours
(52.2%) with frequency of checking every hour. A total of 427 students (100%) Use social
media to search for information. The main social media used to search drugs information
was YouTube as much as (54.1%) With the search for drugs related information
descriptions (cases or related events in the form of abuse, misuse, poisoning, and drug
allergies) as much (93%).
