    Abstract
Most of Indonesia's territory are areas that are in threat of earthquake jolts. The big problem faced is that the high hazard of earthquake in Indonesia has not been accompanied by the spirit of the adoption of safer / earthquake resistant buildings by the community. Thus, earthquake disasters often occur in Indonesia, due to the massive failure of houses when shaken by earthquake shocks. Considering that earthquake shaking can reach at any time from a very large area to inland settlements, this paper is limited to matters relating to innovation and the application of safer / earthquake resistant buildings as an effective effort to reduce the risk of earthquake disaster due to earthquake damage to buildings in order to create a safer community life.
