dc.description.abstract | Yogyakarta as a student city is a destination that attracts many people as a
place to live and take education. Starting from elementary school to college, the
location around the education area has increased in the growth of rental homes.
This refers to the increasing number of students entering yogyakarta, but not the
same as the number of students leaving. The good and bad impacts appear in the
indigenous people of Yogyakarta. The good thing when it becomes a residential
rental business opportunity is often called student dormitory, but it becomes bad
in social terms when it changes its population too often and the diversity of
characters is difficult to unite. Social interaction between students and between
communities is low.
Kampung Cepit, Condong Catur, Sleman, Yogyakarta Special Region,
became the chosen location because it was in the closest living area to several
large campuses in yogyakarta. Cepit village is an area that is diverse in character,
because it consists of a variety of different community backgrounds. coupled with
the growth of student rental homes that are increasing every year. this is not in
line with the life of social interaction, and is only concerned with material
benefits. So that an exclusive impression and high individualism emerged. Space
that appears also becomes personal and lacks ownership among fellow citizens,
both between students and citizens. This problem is a challenge for designers to
overcome this. The design approach is inclusive and emphasizes communal space
without dying the rules of privacy space as the basis for solving this problem.
The results of the design will be obtained by student housing which is
able to increase social interaction between students and ease in openness with the
community. | en_US |
