Asrama Mahasiswa Universitas Islam Riau (UIR) di Pekanbaru : Regionalisme Kritis Terhadap Bangunan Rumah Panggung Tradisional Melayu

Abstract

Pekanbaru is Riau province capital and one of city who have charisma and special characteristics in culture. The special characteristics is Malay, this culture can look from physically or non physically, like clothes, language dialect, tradition until the building. The number of kigrants in Riau continues to increase eachyear. Most of them come from other regions with the objectine of the study in University in Pekanbaru, wich one of University that is Islamic University of Riau. The academic in UIR every years show and increase rapidly. So many students who register at this University. Realize, the important of knowledge that will get in the University. Not a few student who register in UIR come from different regions are quite far. So it become one of the dorm room for those who doesnt have relatives and acquaintences in Riau or those who want to live alone. University in Pekanbaru only a few who facilitate a place for students. If there is, the building is not think convenient for users. Thus, a dormitory built in the UIR who emphasizes for the critical regionalisme of malay architecture. Hopefully will be the appropriate solutions in implementing malay culture and can provide comfort for users. Expection of Malay culture look real at Malay architecture. So that build to be come one of starting point in to the stand real type Malay culture. Malay build not only virtue of building fasade who stage type but also must observe filosofi or content history in that build who processing in critical manner.
