Sintesis Biochar /Fe3O4 Dari Limbah Sekam Padi Untuk Adsorpsi Ion Logam Tembaga (Cu2+)
Abstract
Research has been conducted on the application of biochar/Fe3O4 biocomposite from rice husk to the adsorption of copper metal ions (Cu²). This research was conducted using adsorption method. The advantages of the adsorption method are simpler process, environmentally friendly, no toxic effects and relatively low operational costs. The synthesis method was carried out by pyrolysis method at 300 °C for 1 hour, then activated using ZnCl, which was modified using magnetite precursors FeC1.6H₂O and FeSO4. Biochar/Fe3O4 was varied with the addition of pH 10 and pH 12. The biochar results were characterized using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy-Energy Dispersive X-ray (SEM-EDX) instruments. FTIR results showed the presence of Fe functional groups in biochar pH 10 and pH 12 with wavelengths of 589 cm and 588-589 cm. Based on the SEM results, white clumps can be seen which are FeO, with a porous surface on biochar pH 10 and pH 12. EDX results show the content of Fe in biochar pH 10 and pH 12. Adsorption of copper metal ions was carried out with a variation of contact time of 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes, 120 minutes, and 150 minutes with an adsorbent weight of 0.08 grams to absorb 5 ppm of copper solution. The adsorption results were analyzed by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) instrument and the results were obtained.
