| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study was to examin effectiveness of gratitude training to increase subjective well being on hypertension patients. The hypothesis was that there is a significant difference in the subjective well being between experimental and control groups. This study focused on effectivity of gratitude training to increase satisfaction with life and affection which were aspect of subjective well being. The subjects of this study were peoples with hypertension, age 40-60 years old, men or women, muslim and have tendency low to high score of subjective well being. The design of this experiment was a quasi experiment (pretest-posstest control group design with follow up). A Measure of subjective well being was developed by using aspects from Diener’s theory (1985), which was developed on Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS) from Diener, Emmon, Larsen, and Griffin (1985) and Positive Affect and Negative Schedule (PANAS) from Watson, Clark, and Tellegen (1988). Independent sample t- test used to find effect of gratitude training to increase subjective well being for peoples with hypertension. The results show that there was difference satisfaction with life (t=9.624, p = 0.000 p< 0.01) between the experimental control group. For affection aspect, The result showed there is difference on affection score (t=10.931, p= 0.000 p<0.01) between the experimental and control group. | en_US |
