MANAJEMEN PENDIDIK DALAM MENINGKATKAN PRESTASI NON AKADEMIK SISWA MADRASAH ALIYAH NEGERI 1 YOGYAKARTA
Abstract
To academically form a broad-minded and religious student, educators need to
develop the non-academic potential and interests of students who aim to develop their
personality, talents, and abilities in various fields outside the academic field,
especially on extracurricular activities. This study aims to describe the management
of educators in improving non-academic achievement in MAN 1 Yogyakarta,
covering: (1) planning, (2) organizing, (3) direction, (4) control and evaluation, and
(5) supporting and inhibiting factors of education management in improving nonacademic
achievement of MAN 1 Yogyakarta students.
This is a qualitative research with descriptive approach, which involve student
vice representative, curriculum vice representative, PR vice representative,
extracurricular coach, and leamers. The research was conducted at MAN 1
Yogyakarta. The data were collected by way of interview, observation, and
documentation. Then the data validity was tested with credibility test, transferability
test, dependability test, and confirmability test and analyzed using Miles, Huberman,
and Saldana 2014 model which consist of data collection, data condensation, data
display, and conclusion drawing / verification.
It is revealed that (1) planning ofextracurricular activity is done for every new
school year by the principal, student vice representative, curriculum vice
representative, PR vice representative, vice representative of infrastructure and head
of Administrative. They plan extracurricular, infrastructure, teachers, and the
constraints. (2) organizing by giving added task to the teacher through Decision
Letter of principal as extracurricular coach. (3) the direction or execution of
extracurricular activities in the madrasah is arranged and organized in writing so that
activities can be directed and run smoothly in accordance with the guidelines. (4)
control and evaluation of extracurricular activities in the madrasah, so that the
extracurricular activities conducted by the students can be implemented and rvell
controlled, and if there are deficiencies or inegularities, it will soon be addressed and
solved. (5) Supporting factors in extracurricular activities in MAN 1 Yogyakarta are
facilities and infrastructure, activity funds, competent students, and teachers.
Inhibiting factors in extracurricular activities in MAN 1 Yogyakarta are lack of funds,
discipline of students and trainers, unfeasible and lack of facilities.
