dc.description.abstractAssociation between Parental Bedtime Behaviour and Sleep Disturbance of Children Under the Age of Three. Background. Sleep pattern change over time for young children, with a significant portion of parents reporting sleep disturbance. Parental bedtime behaviour is often related to the development of sleep-wake pattern in young childrens. Aim. To analyze association between parental bedtime behaviour and sleep disturbance under the age of three. Methods. A cross sectional study was conducted in the Ngaglik I public health center in Sleman during Februay-March 2018. Accidental samping was used. Parents were interviewed to fill Brief Infant Sleep Questionnaire (BISQ) and Parental Interactive Bedtime Behaviour Scale (PIBBS). Chi-square test was used for obtained bivariate analysis. Results. There were 51 subjects (21 subjects were boys and 30 subjects were girls) enrolled in this study. 18 (35.3%) subjects were experienced sleep disturbance. The most widely used for parent bedtime behaviour was active physical comforting (58%). There was no significant association active physical comforting and sleep disturbance (p = 0,465). Conclusion. Parental bedtime behaviour was not associated significantly to sleep disturbance of children under the age of three.en_US
