Hubungan Antara Prasangka Sosial dengan Konsep Diri Pada Remaja Gay

Abstract

This study attempted to search the correlation between social prejudice and dimentions of self-concept. The hyphothesis tested was based on the assumption that social prejudice was correlated with knowledge dimention, social prejudice has a relationship with dimentions of hope, and last social prejudice has a correlation with dimentions of evaluation. All of these dimentions of self-concept. Gay Teens are the subject in this research. Their ages range from 18 to 22 years and living in Yogyakarta. Data were collected by two scales include prejudice scale from Hanurawan theory (2010) and self-concept scale from Calhoun and Acocella theory (1995). The collected data were processes by product moment correlation analysis from Pearson. Result of the study indicated that social prejudice was significantly related to dimentions of knowledge with r value 0,552, p = 0.000 (p<0.01), social prejudice wasn't significantly related to dimentions of hope with r value -0.040, p = 0.806 (p > 0.01), and the last social prejudice was significantly related to dimentions of evaluation with r value -0.493, p=0.001 (p<0.01).
