Redesign of the Ujung Batu Fish Auction Hub (TPI) in Jepara

Abstract

The Ujung Batu Fish Auction Hub (TPI) in Jepara is a fisheries area that serves as a center for landing, auctioning, processing, and distribution of fishery products. However, this area still faces various problems, such as circulation conflicts, limited supporting facilities, and a suboptimal relationship between fisheries activities and the coastal economy. Furthermore, coastal conditions influenced by sedimentation, tides, and ocean weather also impact the area's operations. This project aims to redesign the Ujung Batu Fish Farm (TPI) through an Adaptive Architecture The design concept was developed through the arrangement of water zones (Water Zone Arrangement) and the organization of the flow of fisheries activities from sea to land (Fisheries Workflow: Sea–Land). The resulting design is a more integrated fisheries area with the provision of boat mooring areas, boat maintenance facilities, separation of operational and public circulation, and integration of fisheries, MSMEs, and public space functions. This design is expected to improve operational efficiency, strengthen the coastal economy, and create an area that adapts to the dynamics of the coastal environment.
