dc.description.abstract This study attempted to search the relationship between social support and burnout among traffic police. The hypothesis tested was based on the assumption that high social support was correlated with low burnout level. Male and Female of traffic police are the subjects of this research. Their ages from 23-52 years old and working in Polres Sleman. Data were collected by two scales include social support from House's theory (Utami & Hasanat, 1998) and burnout scale was adapted from Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) from Maslach and Jackson's theory (1981). The collected data were processes by product moment analysis. Result of the study indicated that social support was very significantly related to burnout level with r value -0.654, p=0.00 (p<0.01). it means the hypothesis was accepted that high social support was correlated with low burnout.en_US
