dc.description.abstractThis study attempt to search the association between perception of authoritarian parenting style and assertiveness of adolescent. The hyphothesis tested was based on the assumption that higher perception of authoritarian parenting style was correlated with lower assertiveness of adolescent. Male and female of adolescence, living with their parents, and not yet get married are the subjects in this research. Their age range from 15 to 18 years old. Data were collected by two scales include perception of authoritarian parenting style scale from Lazarus's theory (Rakos, 1991) and asertiveness from Baumrind's theory (Mualiffah, 2009). The collected data were processed by product moment analysis. Result of the study indicated that perception of authoritarian parenting style was significantly related to assertiveness with r value -0.36, p=0.009 (p<0.01).en_US
