dc.description.abstractThis thesis is written to figure out the implementation of the character education and its evaluation at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Balerejo Kaliangkrik Magelang. This is a qualitative- phenomenological research in which all students and teachers of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Balerejo Kaliangkrik in the academic year of 2012/2013 have been involved as the population of the research. To determine the sample of the research, Snow Ball Sampling, a method of taking samples those at its beginning are fewer but gradually become more and more depending upon the needs for the data required was used. All teachers, students, headmaster and documents and archives of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Balerejo Kaliangkrik were becoming the subjects of this research. The implementation of character education, meanwhile, was used as the object of the research. The validation test in this research was conducted using triangulation with the sources and methods. Triangulation with sources means to compare and recheck the level of trust or information obtained through different time and tools. This method was expected to provide the more accurate information. The source of data was taken from Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Hidayah Balerejo Kaliangkrik Magelang selected as the informant in this research. The results of this research then show that the implementation of the character education at Madrasah ibtidaiyah Balerejo Kaliangkrik Magelang is conducted through three (3) ways including (1) Integrating to each subject, (2) through the local-content subjects and (3) through self-development. In the perspective of teacher and school factors, the evaluation of the character education at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Balerejo, Sub-district of Kaliangkrik, Magelang Regency was in the form of the regulation and law and order that support the implementation of the character education, embedding the character values in RPP, Syllabus and RKS. In the perspective of student factor, it was in the form of the implementation of the regulation and law and order of school that have been designed for the students. In addition, facilities and infrastructure play a role in supporting this implementation. The evaluation of development was also conducted that is in the attempt of developing or improving the implementation of the character education in future.en_US
