Alternative Flexible Pavement Designs With 2024 Bina Marga and Distress Prediction By Using Kenpave Program (Case study: Peureulak – Bts KM 7+750 – 16+500 Road Segment, Langsa City, East Aceh)
Abstract
Road is an important infrastructure used to allow vehicles to move from one place to other places.
Roads are facilitated with surface which are able to serve transportation under various conditions.
For road to be able to serve traffic load it bears, a pavement planning and design approach are
needed. The study is done to determine the alternative thickness design and investigate the stress
and strain of the alternative pavement designs.
The study of the comparison of the alternative pavement designs to the Peureulak-Bts road in Langsa
City, East Aceh refers to the method of 2024 Bina Marga which then is computed of the stress and
strain values with the KENPAVE program with elastic linier approach.
The result shows that the three of the alternative pavement designs the author suggested, the service
life that the alternative pavement design 1 exceeds 260 years of service life before the fatigue
cracking occurs, 4 years before the rutting damage occurs and 15 years before the permanent
deformation occurs. Meanwhile, the alternative pavement design 2 exceeds 211 years of service life
before the fatigue cracking occurs, 8 years before the rutting damage occurs and 15 years before the
permanent deformation occurs, and the alternative pavement design 3 exceeds 211 years of service
life before the fatigue cracking occurs, 8 years before the rutting damage occurs and 29 years before
the permanent deformation occurs. The further study needs to be conducted to execute the best
possible alternative pavement design to the Peureulak-Bts road in Langsa city, East Aceh.
