Analisis dampak lalu lintas dari implikasi pengembangan fungsi Jalan Mayor Kusmanto, Klaten

Abstract

Jalan Mayor Kusmanto in Klaten underwent a functional transformation from a provincial transport route to a multifunctional public space that reflects historical values, supports the socio-economic activities of the community, and faces new mobility challenges due to its role as an exit for the Solo-Jogja Toll Road. This research analyses the traffic impact on Jalan Mayor Kusmanto, Klaten Tengah due to the function of the road. The method used included primary data collection through field surveys of speed, traffic volume, and road geometric conditions on Saturdays and Sundays at three different times. The analysis results show that at the end of the year, the road is still functioning efficiently (DS < 1), but during the Idul Fitri period, the DS value increases significantly (DS > 1), indicating congestion. Projections for the next 10 years show an increase in DS of more than 2. The engineering of widening the road by 2 metres on each side reduces DS, but is not effective enough, so a more comprehensive traffic solution is needed.
