| dc.description.abstract | Population growth in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, particularly in Sleman Regency, has led to an increase in transportation activity, which has contributed to high traffic accident rates. One of the accident-prone areas is Gentan Intersection, located on Kaliurang Road at Km 10.1–10.7. This intersection has high traffic density as it serves as a link between the Kaliurang tourist area and the city center of Yogyakarta, and is surrounded by commercial activities such as markets, shops, and offices. This study aims to evaluate the performance of the intersection and traffic safety levels through a road safety audit and conflict analysis using the Traffic Conflict Technique method. The primary data analysis is based on PKJI 2023 and the Road Safety Audit Guidelines No. 03/P/BM/2024 of 2024. The analysis results indicate that the existing condition of the intersection without traffic lights is more optimal than if equipped with traffic lights, as the installation of traffic lights reduces the intersection's service level from B to F. Conflict analysis shows that the highest conflicts occur in merging movements (53%) and north-south traffic directions (40%), which are the main routes of Kaliurang Road. The road safety audit identified various significant findings, such as irregular traffic signs, insufficient road markings, pavement damage, and hazards from unprotected poles and trees. Most of the findings were categorized as moderate to severe, requiring immediate action. This study provides technical recommendations for improving traffic safety and serves as a basis for policymakers in designing safe and nationally standardized road infrastructure. | en_US |
