The rapid population growth in Indonesia has led to an increased demand for transportation infrastructure and facilities, particularly public transportation. Public transportation plays a crucial role in supporting community mobility, reducing traffic congestion, and improving travel efficiency. However, in several regions, including Sukorambi District, Jember Regency, issues remain regarding public satisfaction with transportation services. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the need for public transportation in the area and evaluate user satisfaction. This study employs a quantitative approach based on the Directorate General of Land Transportation Regulation No. SK.687/AJ.206/DRJD/2002 to assess the potential demand for public transportation services. Additionally, the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method is used to evaluate user satisfaction with public transportation. The data used in this study consists of both primary and secondary data. Primary data was collected through surveys of public transportation users in Sukorambi District, while secondary data was obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics and other relevant institutions. The analysis focused on the potential demand for public transportation services and the factors influencing public satisfaction with these services. The results indicate that two villages in Sukorambi District have an R value greater than 20, making them viable candidates for public transportation services. These villages are Sukorambi and Karangpring, with R values of 25.21 and 21.46, respectively. Meanwhile, the remaining three villages do not yet meet the criteria for public transportation services. The average level of public satisfaction with public transportation in the area falls into the "good" category, with a score of 2.78. Several aspects need improvement, including service equality, service regularity, and accessibility to bus stops. Based on the IPA analysis, service improvements can be achieved by optimizing headway, directly
monitoring the fleet, and providing better information for users.
