    Abstract
This research aims to conduct a comparative analysis of slope stability using two prominent geotechnical software programs, GeoStudio and Rocscience, within the context of the Cipta Kridatama mining project located in Jambi, Indonesia. The primary focus of this study is to evaluate the safety factor of the slope, which is critical for ensuring the stability and safety of mining operations. The analysis employs the Fellenius (Ordinary) method, a widely recognized approach for assessing slope stability. Key geotechnical parameters are considered in this study, including soil cohesion (c), internal friction angle (φ), unit weight of soil (γ), slope height (H), and slope angle (α). Additionally, the groundwater level is assumed to be at the slope surface, which is a crucial factor influencing the stability of the slope. The slope object under review is a single cross-section of a slope located at the PT Cipta Kridatama mining project, Jambi site. Analysis results indicate that both software programs show high consistency (very small or comparable differences) for each inter-ramp: inter-ramp 1 with a difference of 0.006, inter-ramp 2 with a difference of 0.011, and inter ramp 3 with a difference of 0.018. However, the most significant difference is observed in the overall slope analysis, where Slope/W yielded an SF of 1.477, while SLIDE produced an SF of 1.307, resulting in a difference of 0.170. The selection of appropriate software in mining projects and a thorough understanding of the analytical differences between the two software programs are crucial for informed decision making in slope design and risk mitigation, ensuring more responsible open-pit mining operations, particularly at the PT Cipta Kridatama, Jambi site.
