This study presents a comparative analysis between the Limit Equilibrium Method (LEM) and Finite Element Method (FEM) for slope stability evaluation using two open-source software tools, Hyrcan and Adonis. The research aims to assess their performance under static and seismic loading conditions on two excavation slope profiles (P1 and P2) without groundwater influence. Hyrcan, based on LEM, employed the Bishop Simplified method, while Adonis applied the Mohr-Coulomb model within a FEM framework. Total Stress Analysis (TSA) was utilized due to the absence of pore water pressure. Results showed that Hyrcan yielded higher Factor of Safety (FoS) values, reaching up to 3.128 on P2 under static conditions and 1.509 during seismic loads, closely matching GeoStudio's outcomes. Meanwhile, Adonis produced more conservative results, similar to PLAXIS, with the lowest FoS of 0.561 for P2 under seismic load. These findings confirm that open source tools like Hyrcan and Adonis can deliver reliable, comparable results to commercial software, making them feasible and cost-effective alternatives for educational, research, and preliminary engineering purposes.en_US
