    Abstract
Degradation of ammonia (NH3) in hospital wastewater of JIH with electrolysis method using brass alloy electrode has been carried out. This method is done in electrolysis cell sequence equipped with electrode. Electrodes used are brass metal as cathode and anode. In this research, effect variations, time, and effect of electrolyte addition to determine the most optimum electrolysis condition. The procedure of ammonia analysis refers to SNI 06-6989.30-2005 on how to test the ammonia concentration with the spectrophotometer in phenate. The results showed that the most optimum electrolysis conditions were on the Vage and the electrolysis time respectively was 5 V and 120 min. The addition of electrolytes in the electrolysis process can increase the decrease of ammonia in hospital wastewater. Electrolysis conducted at conditions of stress and optimal time that is 5 V for 120 minutes with the addition of acid electrolyte HCl is able to reduce the ammonia of 57,86%.
