Plastic wastes are widely known to cause environmental problems. Fight against plastic wastes has increasingly been campaigned by the government of Indonesia. As a contribution to this effort from the field of road pavements, this research was aimed at twofold objectives, namely to help reducing the wastes and, simultaneously, to seek the possibility of using them in pavements for performance improvements. The Polyethylene Terephtalete (PET) wastes were pre-processed and added to the 60/70 pen. asphalt binder as modifier. The AC-WC mixes were produced from the control and modified binders according to the 2018 rev. 2 Bina Marga Specifications requirements. The optimum binder and optimum PET contents of the samples were found to be 6,5% and 4%, respectively. At these conditions, samples with modified asphalt were found to have higher stability up to 10,4% increase as compared to that of the controls. This early advantage, however, became quickly insignificant in the conditions of being soaked with rain water for 24 and 48 hours. The similar trend was also noticed in the application of ITS tests. Cantabro Loss examination showed that samples with modified asphalt tend to have higher loss value, although not significant. This research indicates that, to some degree (4%), PET wastes can be accomodated into AC-WC mixes as asphalt modifier, without compromising the stability.en_US
