| dc.description.abstract | One of the impacts after the eruption of Mount Merapi is the flow of debris in Gendol River. To overcome this impact, a sediment control structure, namely Sabo Dam GE-C13 was built. The GE-C13 sabo dam which is expected to be able to control flowing sediment due to volcanic activity of Mount Merapi. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the sabo storage capacity to find out whether the sabo dam building can control the sediment flow. Analyze of the storage capacity of the sabo dam was carried out by calculating the rainfall intensity with the Monnonabe equation and also the Shimoda equation to calculating the sediment flow. To determine the characteristics and potential volume of sediment, the Takahashi and Mizuyama equations are used which are adjusted to the conditions that occur. The results of the calculation of the 100 years return period design flood discharge obtained rainfall of 131,789 mm with a rain intensity of 109,826 mm/hour which has the potential to cause debris flows. The potential volume of sediment input that occurs is 82.942,98 m³. In calculating the sediment offset with the Shimoda equation, it can be concluded that there is no natural overtopping sediment. If taking into account the presence of sediment from slope and river erosion in Gendol River du | en_US |
