    Abstract
The building planning of the XYZ Hospital in Batang district has a large percentage of ceramic tile work compared to other work items. Large workloads require large resources and the risks that follow (delay risk, cost risk, and quality risk). In this research, several starting point scenarios for ceramic tile installation were determined based on detailed engineering drawings, and then from these starting points wasted material was calculated to determine the most efficient starting point for installing floor coverings. Wasted material is calculated using the method of plotting scaled drawings. In addition to calculating the wasted material, the time and costs for each scenario of the starting point of installation are also calculated. The results of this research were obtained as a starting point for ceramics starting from the elbow area of the room which has the longest side and almost always has a small amount of waste material. This pattern occurs because there are only two sides of the ceramic tiles that are cut and it does not occur on the other two sides. Another research result is that there is a pattern of relationship if the amount of wasted material is of high value, then the amount of wasted budget will follow, while there is no pattern of relationship between the amount of material wasted and the duration of the work, so the plan that has the least material left over and also the fastest time cannot be chosen
