    Abstract
Construction projects are commonly carried out in open fields so that the course of the project can affected by the weather. The most influential weather in Indonesia is rain. The risk of rain causing obstacles to construction projects that cause delays in project completion and the risk of increasing construction costs. An example of the risk of rain affecting construction work is during the excavation of foundations and casting of concrete foundations. the foundation excavation process will be disrupted by inundation in the foundation pit and rising groundwater levels, while for the concrete foundation casting stage it will affect the quality of the concrete This research aim to : (1) Identify the risks that are arise during the construction of a building project during the rainy season in DIY. (2) Determine the level of risk that occurs in building construction project in the rainy season in the DIY area which affects many costs and time. (3) Knowing how to handle the appropriate risk response for the dominant high (medium-high) risk that affects costs and time. This research includes a research survey on the experiences of contractors and supervisory consultants as respondents in working on construction projects during the rainy season in DIY. Data analysis using the Severity Index method that aims to determine the probability category (P) and path (I). The Severity index is calculated based on the answers of all respondents. Each risk is assessed on the basis of likelihood and impact on project objectives. Evaluation of the probability and impact of each risk is carried out using a probability and impact matrix that determines the likelihood of dependence resulting in impacts that lead to high and medium risk levels.
