This paper examines the role of Virtual Reality (VR) technology in revolutionizing the construction industry by improving project planning, design visualization and worker training. VR provides interactive simulations that improve client engagement and design evaluation, leading to more efficient project planning and data-driven decision making. This study uses a qualitative research approach, combining bibliometric analysis and PRISMA methods to review literature from the Scopus database. This analysis highlights the significant growth in VR-related construction research, especially in developed countries, and identifies key research clusters in architectural planning, 3D visualization, and construction safety. Despite its advantages, VR implementation faces challenges such as high initial costs and limitations in simulating real-world conditions, which are significant hurdles for small and medium-sized businesses. VR also supports sustainable construction by reducing material waste and enabling energy efficiency testing, aligning with the global trend towards environmentally friendly construction practices. The paper concludes that although VR has great potential, overcoming financial and technical barriers is critical to widespread adoption.en_US
