dc.description.abstractThe Cariu-Jagatamu Highway, as a provincial road in the Cariu District, is often complained about by drivers due to its severe condition and potential hazards. This road segment, which connects Bogor and Karawang regencies, has experienced significant damage, primarily due to heavy vehicle traffic and water pooling. Therefore, evaluating the condition of the road pavement is deemed essential to identify the extent of the existing damage. This study employs two methods for analyzing road conditions: the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) and the Surface Distress Index (SDI). Additional evaluations are conducted using a mechanistic-empirical approach through the KENPAVE application, which utilizes linear modeling to determine the pavement's lifespan. Survey results indicate that both methods categorize the road as being in "very poor" condition, with final PCI values of 28.067 and 30, and an average SDI of 151.83, indicating severe surface damage. Further analysis using the mechanistic-empirical method with the KENPAVE program predicts a very poor pavement lifespan, with remaining life for fatigue, deformation, and rutting reaching negative values, highlighting the urgent need for repairs. The proposed reconstruction design includes an FFF2 type pavement structure with appropriate layer thickness to enhance road durability. The conclusion suggests that although the results from PCI and SDI show different patterns, the combination of both methods provides a comprehensive overview of the road condition and underscores the urgent need for remedial actions to improve road user safety.en_US
