    Abstract
The high demand for concrete in infrastructure development motivates research to improve the strength of concrete, including the exploration of substitutes or additives to concrete mixes from local waste. One of the materials considered is blood clam shell waste. This study aims to identify the effect of variations in adding Sikament LN superplasticizer to concrete with 10% blood clam shell powder as a partial substitution of sand on concrete's compressive strength and tensile strength and determine the maximum strength value. The Sikament LN variations used were 0%, 1%, 1.25%, and 1.5% by weight of cement. This research was conducted using an experimental test, including aggregate testing, mix planning, making test specimens, and testing compressive and tensile strength after 28 days. Mix planning calculations were carried out based on SNI 03- 2834-2000. The results showed that the addition of Sikament LN and the substitution of blood clam shell powder significantly improved the strength of concrete. The compressive strength of concrete increased between 5.402% to 29.574%, while the split tensile strength increased between 11.779% to 27.793%. The highest strength values were achieved in concrete with 1.5% Sikament LN and 10% blood clam shell powder, with a compressive strength of 27.361 MPa and split tensile strength of 2.757 MPa, compared to regular concrete with a compressive strength of 21.116 MPa and tensile strength of 2.157 MPa. These results demonstrate the potential of using blood clam shell waste and Sikament LN superplasticizer as effective additives in improving concrete performance.
