dc.description.abstractThe railway line in Semarang is a legacy of Dutch colonialism in the 19th century and has yet to undergo any route changes. There are two active stations, namely Tawang Station and Poncol Station. The existence of this train line has a positive impact on economic activities and the mobilization of goods or services. However, this route is located in a low-lying topographic area. It is densely populated, making it possible for environmental problems or accidents to occur, impacting the train mode's effectiveness. Because of this, it's essential to assess and study rail lines in terms of their viability and transit capabilities. The research uses quantitative methods with secondary data from CPT soil testing results to determine the potential for soil liquefaction. Then, an analysis of the effectiveness of the train station is carried out using space syntax. The research results show that the train route is located in a lowland area with a high potential for soil liquefaction. Efforts to deal with carrying capacity problems are by compacting the soil. The slope is between 0-8%, so there is no potential for landslides to occur. Therefore, the existing train lines have functioned effectively and efficiently. Meanwhile, prevention of potential dangers from user factors and modes of transportation is carried out by enforcing relevant policies and regular security checks.en_US
