    Abstract
Tawang - Ngalang Segment IV road was built as an alternative route for the Jogja - Wonosari road via the Piyungan - Patuk route. This research is devoted to the Tawang - Ngalang segment IV road Sta. 7+750 which was built on a 9 m soil embankment. The purpose of this study was to obtain a safe number (SF) of embankment slopes and consolidation settlement within 365 days (1 year). Slope stability analysis was carried out using the finite element method with the help of Plaxis 8.6 software. On the embankment slope with an angle of 34° with geoxtextile reinforcement during the construction period of the embankment up to 2,5 m 2,6458; embankment up to 5 m 2,4334; embankment up to 7 m 2,0975; and embankment up to 9 m 1,5981; during post-construction the safety number (SF) slope of the 34° corner embankment with geotextile reinforcement was 1,3283 so that it was more than required by 1,3; and the resulting consolidated settlement of 0,1632 m. These results show that changing the slope angle of the embankment and geotextile reinforcement can increase the slope embankment safety number (SF).
