The multistory building is designed to withstand lateral forces due to earthquakes. There are several methods to strengthen multistory buildings. One solution is to add a dual system known as shear walls. Shear walls are not ordinary walls but structural elements designed to resist earthquake lateral forces in buildings. The purpose of this study is to compare the structural analysis results of three types of multistory building models. The structural response being compared is the inter- story drift due to seismic forces. Generally, the structural models analyzed consist of 5 floors. Model 1 is an existing building without shear walls, Model 2 is an existing building with added shear walls, and Model 3 is a redesigned building with added shear walls and reduced column and beam dimensions. All three models were analyzed and designed using SAP2000 software, following the regulations of SNI 1726:2019 and SNI 2847:2019. The results of the structural analysis of these three models show that base shear value increases and the story drift decreases due to the addition of shear walls. Model 3 produces the smallest building weight but does not significantly influence the base shear force and story drift. From the research results, it was concluded that adding shear walls had a more significant influence on the structural response than reducing the dimensions of the structure.en_US
