Construction has various complex processes that need to be executed
properly in order to achieve safe, functional and durable results.
However, when carrying out construction practices, errors can occur
during implementation. The problem found in the Lecture Building
project was that there were columns that were eccentric during the
implementation of the pedestal column and 1st floor by 20 cm. One of the
most appropriate alternative solutions to reduce column shifts that can
be done by using the concrete jacketing method on the pedestal columns.
Concrete Jacketing or column thickening is carried out on the right side
of the column to a thickness of 20 cm so that the dimensions of pedestal
column which were previously 50x50 become 50x70 with the addition of
stirrup reinforcement which is anchored to the existing column and
longitudinal reinforcement which is anchored to the footplate foundation.
The research results show that the concrete jacketing repair method can
overcome the problem of column eccentricity which exceeds the ACI 117
tolerance. Behavior of building structure after the columns have been
strengthened using the concrete jacketing method produces relatively
smaller deviation values between floors when compared to column thath
have not been reinforced. The internal force on column increased after
the column was strengthened using the jacketing method. The internal
force in the beam which previously increased became smaller after
strengthening the eccentric column. This is because the stiffness of the
building structure with column reinforcement is greater than the stiffness
of the previous structure.
