dc.description.abstractWaste is an environmental issue that is currently difficult to manage. The amount of waste continues to increase along with the growing human needs and population. To minimize the accumulation of waste, it can be handled through incineration using a waste incinerator. It is necessary to process or utilize the ash from waste incineration to reduce the waste. The ash from waste incineration can be used as a substitute for some of the sand in paving blocks. The aim of this research is to investigate the utilization of waste incineration ash in paving blocks. This research uses a sand substitute with a mixture composition of cement and sand in a ratio of 1pc: 6s with percentage variations of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% by the weight of sand. Testing was conducted at 28 days after the paving blocks had been cured. The tests performed include compressive strength, abrasion resistance, and water absorption tests. The results of the tests indicate that the optimum quality occurs at a 10% waste incineration ash percentage, showing the highest compressive strength value of 13.588 MPa, which falls under quality classification C, and the lowest water absorption value of 8.236%, also classified as quality C, suitable for pedestrian areas. However, the abrasion resistance value of 0.236 mm/min falls under quality classification D, which is suitable for garden areas. This shows that the addition of waste incineration ash to the paving block mixture can improve the quality and serve as an alternative to replacing sand usageen_US
