    Abstract
This research aims to determine effectiveness of salacca peel biosorbent in methylene blue based on variation pH acid, netral, and base. The other aims were to characterization of salacca peel biosorbent using FTIR, GSA, and SEM. The research metode include the manuacture of biosorbent salacca peel without carbonization process. The adsorption process is done by mixing biosorbent salacca peel with methylene blue for 2 hours. The resulting filtrate was analyed using spektrofotometry UV-VIS. Caracterization of salacca peel biosorbent using FTIR showed that difference peak of wavenumber 3300 cm-1 was functional OH. Caracterization using GSA showed salacca peel biosorbent has large pore with pore distibution result was 71,9147 and small surface area was 8,0601 m2/g. Caracterization using SEM showed surface of salacca peel biosorbent an event and few pore. The result showed adsorption capasity of pH base was 9,8582 mg/g.
