dc.description.abstractA study has been conducted on the degradation of rhodamine B dye using Sn-Montmorillonite catalyst. The degradation of rhodamine B dye is carried out by an advanced oxidation method. Sn-Montmorillonite catalyst preparation is carried out by heating, soaking, drying and scouring. Characterization of Sn- Montmorillonite catalysts was performed using XRD, FTIR, SEM-EDX. The degradation results were analyzed by using UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The test result showed that degradation of rhodamin B dye using Sn- Montmorillonite catalyst with H2O2 addition was found 95% degradation 95,42% at 40 min. While the degradation results of rhodamin B dye without using H2O2 obtained% degradation of 94.42% at 60 minutes. By comparing the degradation results of rhodamine B with the addition of H2O2 and without the addition of H2O2% degradation is not too significantly different so that in industrial applications the addition of H2O2 is not necessary. Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang degradasi zat warna rhodamin B menggunakan katalis Sn-Montmorillonit. Degradasi zat warna rhodamin B dilakukan dengan metode oksidasi lanjut. Preparasi katalis Sn-Montmorillonit dilakukan dengan pemanasan, perendaman, pengeringan dan penggerusan. Karakterisasi katalis Sn-Montmorillonit dilakukan dengan menggunakan XRD, FTIR, SEM-EDX. Hasil degradasi dianalisis dengan menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Hasil uji menunjukkan bahwa degradasi zat warna rhodamin B menggunakan katalis Sn-Montmorillonit dengan penambahan H2O2 didapatkan % degradasi sebesar 95,42% pada waktu 40 menit. Sedangkan hasil degradasi zat warna rhodamin B tanpa menggunakan H2O2 diperoleh % degradasi sebesar 94,42% pada waktu 60 menit. Dengan membandingkan hasil degradasi rhodamin B dengan penambahan H2O2 dan tanpa penambahan H2O2 %degradasi tidak terlalu berbeda secara signifikan sehingga dalam aplikasi diindustri penambahan H2O2 tidak terlalu diperlukan.en_US
