The section of the Kaligawe national highway is a strategic road on the pantura (pantai utara) road segment in Semarang that connects Semarang city with Demak. In addition to its function as a main artery, the traffic on the Kaligawe highway is quite congested with various types of vehicles. The effect of the number of vehicles and their traffic load is the damage to the road, so that the comfort and safety of the traffic are affected. This study aims to determine the value of the road condition and how to maintain it efficiently. As a method, the International Roughness Index (IRI) and the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) are used, which serve as the basis for determining the type of road maintenance administration. The survey was carried out by dividing 10 meters segment into 150 meters. The results showed that there were differences in the state of Kaligawe road between the two methods, the IRI methhod was 20% good, 73% fair, and 7% slightly damaged. While the PCI method value is 58,67 shows that 13% good, 33% fair, 27% poor, and 27% excellent. The difference in results is due to different survey methods for IRI and PCI. On the PCI method, visual assessment is obtained through a field study, while the IRI method uses a car and utilize the Roaddroid application to measures the roughness of road.
