| dc.description.abstract | Data collection on the field requires a lot of instruments and takes so much time. So, in this day
and age when technologies are far more sophisticated, a tool is needed to help surveyors in
collecting data in the field, especially the speed, volume, and vehicle density of road segments.
This research was conducted by developing an Android software that can be used for collecting
the speed, volume, and density of a road segment. This software is later be tested on Siliwangi
Street, Yogyakarta. The output of the software, which are the speed, volume, and density on the
road segment, is used to determine the road segment capacity based on Greenshields’ Model and
MKJI 1997, which are then compared to see if the software is ready to be used on a real survey.
Time spent on gathering data with Android software is also decreased, from 90 – 120 minutes to
just 65 – 70 minutes. There are differences in the capacity on Siliwangi Street between the
Greenshields model and MKJI. The capacity based on the Greenshields model is 4323,672 pcu/hr,
and the capacity based on MKJI 1997 is 3762 pcu/hr. This is caused by the duration of the survey
conducted in this research, which was just 1 hour for testing purposes. But, because this software
is designed to mimic the function of conventional tools, it can be used on a real survey. | en_US |
