    Abstract
Traffic Vehicle at Sampakan Intersection was very crowded because a tourism route which causes a buildup of vehicles. This situation requires a study that can provide the best solutions so there need research on Performance Evaluation of the Sampakan Intersection in existing condition, looking for alternative solution, then comparing the existing conditions with the alternative solution for the best result. The research was conducted using a direct survey method. Analysis of the intersection was using technical guidance of signalized intersections according to MKJI 1997 and modeled using VISSIM software. Modelling carried on exiting conditions, calculated by MKJI 1997, and 3 alternative treatments to compare the level of service. The result of this study obtained existing intersection have the average delay time 9,785 seconds/vehicle, queue length 121,612 meters, the intersection capacity is 851,41 smp/hour, and the degree of saturation is 0,758, with level of service B. Alternative solution are then compared with the existing condition to produce a delay time, queue length, capacity, and degree of saturation. The best alternative solution is alternative 2 with an average delay time 12,544 seconds/vehicle, queue length 124.988 meters, the intersection capacity is 834.69 smp/hour, and the degree of saturation is 0,703, with level of service B.
