    Abstract
Soil has various character in the Civil Engineering construction so that a soil problem often occurs. This research is to stabilize the soil by testing the physical properties of the soil, unsoaked and soaked CBR tests to determine the bearing capacity and swelling value. The results of the research obtained by this soil sample are based on the value of the plasticity index included in the cohesive soil with high plasticity properties. The type of soil according to the USCS system classification of this soil belongs to the CH group, namely the type of inorganic clay or fine diatomite sand, elastic silt, while according to the AASHTO classification system the soil is included in the A-7-5 group, which is the type of staple material in general, clay soil with an assessment general as moderate to poor subgrade. The results of tests carried out by the soil are influenced by the durability of the bearing capacity and the swelling which is reviewed based on the CBR and swelling values. The various duration of soaking are carried out, the CBR value obtained decreases, and the swelling value increases so that it will result in low carrying capacity. In the third soaking time (6 days) the CBR decreased and the highest swelling value increased. The original land experienced a decrease in CBR value of 37.973% and the swelling value increased by 3.72%, while the stabilized land with a percentage of FA 15% + ASP 5% decreased by 25.572%, and the swelling value increased by 0.66%.
