dc.description.abstractThis thesis examines the correlation and effectiveness of the 4 concepts of International Labour Organization (ILO) Economic Security in the analysis of construction worker issues during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The 4 concepts used are (1) Work Security, (2) Income Security, (3) Labour Market Security, and (4) Representation Security. Each security concept looks at a number of Economic Security issues related to construction workers during the construction of facilities for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, mainly stadiums. This thesis also looks at how Qatar and sports and organizations reacted to and addressed these issues. It also looks at the actions taken by construction workers and the consequences of the security issues faced by both the workers and Qatar. Qatar’s view and implementation of security within the 4 concepts of Economic Security were used to discover where the problems lay and the correlation between the two. The findings are focused on the issues faced by the workers, the effectiveness of the 4 concepts of ILO Economic Security and Qatar’s standpoint.en_US
