dc.description.abstractMining is one of the big industry in Indonesia that have lot of workers. A protection of workers from diseases by work is a must thing that a mining company should do, one of these thing is a chronic disease that will surfaced long time after the works done. Underground mine as one of the method in mining generated lot of dust from various work activity that can lead to high risk of exposure to workers. Exposure to Inhalable and respirable dust in high concentration and longtime period could generate lung cancer, beside that dust mining is really possible to contain silica as it was the most abundant component in earth that can lead to disease such as silicosis and lung cancer then death. This research aim is to analyze the different of concentration of dust and silica based on their location and the work area, also to find out the correlationof dust and silica concentrationwith the work time and age of workers, the further analysis is to find out the relative risk of mortality from silicosis in underground mine workers of PT. X. one way ANOVA and correlation analysis is used as initial analysis for the first and second aims, and the table from Mannetje et al (2002) is used to analysis the relative risk of mortality from silicosis. From 103 sample, 22 sample is exposed to silica but still below the regulation fromMinistry of Manpower and Transmigration number 13 in 2011, the result of ANOVA and correlation show that there is none relation between mine location with silica and dust concentration, but there is indeed relation between dust concentration with age and silicaconcentration with working period, result of the relative risk of mortality from silicosis in underground mine of PT. X is 1/1000 of exposed workers.en_US
