Many recent studies have indicated the potential of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) for some medical applications such as cancer detection, cancer treatments. Nanoscale materials such as metal nanoparticles are currently being employed for more excellent activity of metals. Due to its development, the method to obtain metal nanoparticles is widely studied, one of these is within the green synthesis scheme, i.e. the use of plant extract as bioreductor. In this paper, the use of shrub; white Lantana camara flower as bioreductor in silver NPs synthesis was conducted. Bioreductor of white Lantana camara extract was prepared by refluxing of dried Lantana camara flowers. The extract was mixed with Ag solution followed by sonication. The nanoparticle formation was measured by using UV -Vis spectrophotometry, FTIR and PSA. The nanoparticle solution was tested for antioxidant activity by DPPH method and its measurement by u sing UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The result indicates that the extract of white Lantana camara is potential to be used as bioreductor in silver nanoparticle synthesis. The nanoparticles are found to have particle size in between 76.7-93 nm. Silver nanoparticles are well as antioxidant. The antioxidant activity of derived nanoparticles is between 15-61%.en_US
