Abstract

The bed is an essential element in the quality of inpatient health care provision. Bed management can impact into optimizing the hospital bed occupancy. The hospital bed management is a process of allocating and providing the beds. The Hospital Bed Management System was developed to help Medical Practitioners in managing the bed. The Beds Management System Software has been already implemented and existed widely on market, but it only focuses on capacity availability, demand forecast and planning of the hospital beds. RSU Islam Harapan Anda requires a system that can perform Graphics (BOR, LOS, TOI, BTO, and Barber Johnson) and bed reports (Daily Census of PRI, BOR, LOS, TOI, BTO, Bed of Usage, and Request for bed searching). The problems is tha tthe data processing of search request the bed, business process, management system and system prototype can be used to manage the bed, create reports of the bed, present information of the bed status that deal with and present bed data by using Barber Johnson Graph.

The methodology is Design Research performing Five-stage Processes. Stages of Awareness of Problems, hospitals faces some problems in the provision of inpatient health services. Stages of Suggestion, the design concept is created for Business Process and System Prototype. Stages of Development deal with the development of Business Process and System Prototype. Stages of Development, deal with the creation of Business Process and System Prototype. Stages of Conclusion, the process model of design research can be used to solve problems of the hospital bed management system. The result of this research is Business Process and System Prototype can be used as early study of development the hospital bed management system at RSU Islam Harapan Anda. Contributions may be given to researchers in Information Systems, when researching the development of the system can use the Design Research model. Another contribution is the use of design research which can be applied to the health domain (Hospital).
