    Abstract
The birth of their first child often makes many people feel worried and anxious, resulting in continuous discomfort about things that have not yet happened. Therefore, it is important for pregnant women to have the ability to manage their emotions. This research aims to find out the relationship between emotional regulation and anxiety regarding the birth of your first child. This research is quantitative research. Determining the research sample used a non-probability method with accidental sampling. The sample for this study was pregnant women who were pregnant with their first child. This research instrument uses the Pregnancy Related Anxiety Questionnaire-revised 2 (PRAQ-r2) scale and the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ). The data analysis technique used is a simple regression test as a differentiating test. The results showed that there was a significant negative relationship between emotional regulation and anxiety in pregnant women who were pregnant with their first child (r = -0.582, p < 0.001). This shows that the higher the level of emotional regulation possessed by pregnant women, the lower their anxiety levels.
