| dc.description.abstract | Difficulty sleeping (insomnia) is one of the biggest causes experienced by the elderly. With aging, sleep patterns undergo changes distinguishing characteristic of those who are younger. These changes include the latency to sleep, woke up early in the morning and an increasing number of naps. Sleeplessness / insomnia is caused by many things, one of which is stress. Stress is a part in everyday human life, for people who are good adjustment, the stress can be quickly addressed and overcome. But for people who are coping less well, then stress is a major part in his life so that stress can hamper daily activities including sleep patterns. Objective: This study aims to determine is there a relationship between sleeplessness (insomnia) with the level of stress in the elderly in Kecamatan Turi Sleman Yogyakarta. Method: This study used a cross-sectional study conducted in 95 subjects. The study was conducted by taking primary data in the form of a questionnaire KSPBJ-IRS (Study Group Biologik Jakarta-Insomnia Psychiatric Rating Scale) to assess sleeplessness (insomnia) and using questionnaires The Depression Anxiety Stress 42 (DASS 42) to assess the level of stress. Data were analyzed using Chi-Square. Result: Based on a relationship analysis test difficulty sleeping (insomnia) with the level of stress in the Kecamatan Turi Sleman Yogyakarta showed significant results with p <0.05 is obtained p = 0.000 (0.000 <0.05).
