Waste management in the settlement is still an issue included in VillagrNelayan Cilacap. Managed by the Fishermen in the village of Cilacap just leave it to the janitor, without any effort to recycle plastic waste in particular. This study aims to determine the generation and waste characteristics and determine the potential energy of the inorganic waste especially plastic components through the concept of RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel). RDF refers to the inseparability fraction having a high calorific value from the separation process Municipal Solid Waste (MSW). RDF production is designed to change the garbage combustible fraction of municipal solid waste for fuel. The method of implementation of activities is the most important step that determines the success and smooth running of RDF planning work. Phase-steps being taken is to do garbage sampling, testing the characteristics of waste, RDF process design as well as knowing the amount of heat generated from plastic waste component, and then calculate the total cost of investment, operation and maintenance in the planning RDF. The process of making RDF from municipal waste generally consists of several stages that direct elections at the source separation of waste according to its kind to use the machine, cutting according to the desired size, separation again, mixing the ingredients - additives, drying, packaging and storage. Based on the sampling results, it is known that waste Village Nelayan Cilacap with the number of units of the waste as many as 49 people in 10 sampling points amounted to 65.6 kg / 3Days. From the characteristics of waste, plastic waste consisting of 8% later in the assay where the results obtained calorific heating value of the plastic waste that exists is 541,441.511325 Kcal / kg / hr. The required investment costs Rp 355,492,989.2, - for operational costs Rp 21.7 million, -and for maintenance costs amounting to Rp 1.500.000, - while the total profit earned Rp 9,052,344.28, - / month the details were obtained in total required capital of Rp 354 366 240.en_US
