Background: The location of the skin make it prone to injury which is basically unavoidable. Drug that is popularly used in clinic is Silver sulfadiazine cream which is the gold standard in the treatment of burns that have the ability as an antimicrobial and reepitelization. Vitamin C can help injuries healing because it has the ability as an antioxidant, bactericidal, prevent infection, and the most important is the ability in the synthesis of collagen. Objective: To determine differences in the acceleration of wound healing in the skin biopsy of white male rats with topical administering of vitamin C serum compared to Silver sulfadiazine. Method: The study is an experimental laboratory research with a prospective design comparing 3 groups and each groups consist of 5 mice. Normal saline as a negative control, Silver sulfadiazine as a positive control, and vitamin C serum as a treatment group. Each treatment is repeated 2 times daily for 16 days. During the 16 days acceleration of wound healing will be assessed from the three groups by looking at the wound size on days 4, 8, 11, and 15. Results: From comparing the three groups, we obtained p = 0.148, the value illustrates that there is no significant difference in the three groups in the acceleration of wound healing process. Conclusion: Giving vitamin C serum and Silver sulfadiazine in the wound healing process does not give significant results.en_US
