    Abstract
Indonesia and its mining legacy have been known for centuries by people. Not to mention the history of mineral mining with its discoveries that brought the name of Indonesia to global communities. Especially in the Cempaka district, located in Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan, the encounter of ‘Galuh’ or diamond during past years is well known because of its quality. With the growing exposure of diamond mining in the district, the mining activities are being enlarged as the people put hope beneath their feet. Traditional mining has been enhanced into semi-modern and modern mining by some companies. Unfortunately, these activities show both positive and negative results, especially in the quality of land as modern mining dug up a lot of soil to create voids yet ended up abandoned as ex-mining lakes. The abandonment of these lakes stands as the silent witness of the old-time mining breakthrough which will lead to the future of the diamond mining industry by honoring its legacy. Thus, a visitor center is proposed to assemble the society on reflecting as well as showcasing innovative ways of entertaining the visitors to highlight the symbol of resilience and regeneration on the future of diamond mining. On the other hand, the visitor center will also serve as a medium for reclaiming the natural beauty of the land while complementing what was left there.
